What is Jett Plasma?
Jett Plasma is state-of-the-art technology that’s used for skin tightening and non-surgical skin lifting. It is used for non-surgical eyelifts, eye bags, tightening skin on the neck and around the mouth, hand rejuvenation as well as mole, skin tag and wart removal.
Unlike many of the other plasma devices on the market, the Jett Plasma pen uses a direct current (DC) rather than an alternating current (AC) which allows it ‘scan’ the skin as well as dot. This means it is more versatile, can be used over larger areas without creating as much damage and the downtime can be less than that of other plasma devices.

Why choose Jett Plasma?
The Jett Plasma Pen is the only pen in the world that uses patented technology for direct current plasma flow rather than an alternating current plasma flow. This technology allows the Jett Plasma technician to use a ‘scanning’ technique for skin tightening as well as a dot technique.
Being able to perform the scanning technique means the treatment is safer for skin than it would be using solely the traditional dot method.
The technique utilized by the Jett Plasma Pen is very versatile as it can be used over larger areas in a much safer way than other methods on the market. Less trauma means your skin will heal quicker than it would if done with any other device. This treatment is driven by results, so your skin will be sensitive and will endure a healing process during which the benefits of the treatment may not be immediately evident. But don’t worry! As soon as your skin recovers you will reap the benefits of younger looking skin.

How comfortable is the treatment?
A local anaesthetic is usually given via numbing cream, depending on the area being treated.
When the plasma connects with the skin there may be a sensation of heat. Depending on your pain threshold this may be a mild discomfort which subsides as soon as the procedure is over. The eye area and the area around the mouth can be quite sensitive and may be more painful.

What are the side effects?
Side effects include inflammation and flushing of the treated area which may last two to three days. Around the eye area may last longer – up to ten days and there may be swelling that lasts a few days. Sleeping with some extra pillows to keep the head elevated can help.
There will also be crusting or small dot-like scabs on the skin which will last for a week to ten days. It is important not to pick or scratch the area and allow the crusts to disappear without interference.
If it is a mole that has been treated an area equivalent to the size of the mole will crust. The scab will drop off within one to two weeks.
Do not put any makeup on for at least 48 hours after the treatment.

Is the Jett Plasma Lift worth it?
Jett Plasma Lift can be an effective way to remove moles, skin tags and warts. These procedures are more or less painless and the effect is impressive. If you are prone to pigmentation or have dark skin ask your practitioner about the possibility of pigmentation spots.
For wrinkle reduction, skin tightening and non-surgical eye lifts it is far less expensive and less invasive than the surgical alternatives. Results can last up to five years, making the longevity comparable with surgery. Not to mention the healing and recovery time is nothing compared to surgery.
During Jett Plasma
How does it work?
The Jett Plasma Lift is a revolutionary treatment that can give you the appearance of tighter skin, lifted brows and even non-surgical blepharoplasty. This innovative technology uses gasses to stimulate instant contraction and tightening of the skin fibres. This technology does not use a scalpel or laser to remove excess skin, thereby avoiding all the risks associated with traditional surgical intervention.
This treatment is based on ‘plasma’ – the fourth state of matter after solid, liquid and gas. It is an ionized gas that becomes highly charged and acts almost like a little lightning bolt that effectively tightens the excess skin. This will leave a fine crusting that disappears after approximately 1 week.
In addition to removing excess skin to give a lifted effect, it also promotes collagen production for a long-term skin rejuvenation benefit.
Non- surgical alternative. The Jett Plasma Lift does not require a general anaesthetic and many treatments can be done in less than an hour, with results that can last up to five years.
After Jett Plasma
Immediately Following Treatment
. You may experience a “stinging” sensation in the treated area(s) immediately after treatment. This is normal and it generally only lasts for about an hour.
. If the treated area is swollen, you may apply ice packs covered with a clean cloth. Do not apply ice directly onto the skin, as this can cause damage to the tissue. Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications like aspirin, ibuprofen or steroids if possible.
. If you are receiving a Plasma Pen treatment anywhere on your face or neck, we recommend you sleep on your back with your head elevated to reduce swelling.
. Do not cleanse the treated area until the following day
. Do not exercise 48 hours after treatment or expose yourself to any heat, steam or sweat because this can intensify the inflammation that’s already present.
. Your technician will provide you with after care products and instructions. You must follow the provided aftercare protocol to expedite the healing process and avoid complications.
. The area that has been treated must not be covered with occlusive dressing or any type of sunblock, make-up, mascara, creams or any other products until the area has fully healed. Many ingredients in skin care products and cosmetics can irritate skin and cause allergic reactions. Ultimately this will slow you’re your healing process and possibly impede desired results
. It is highly unlikely you will ever get an infection from a Plasma Pen treatment, as the wound we cause is not open. However, the first 12 hours post-treatment is vital in protecting you from any potential infection, so please avoid any activities where you could expose your-self to contaminants. Keeping hands off of anything that comes in contact with the treatment area
. You may return to work the following day. However, you will not look your absolute best during the initial healing process (approximately 7 days)
. Expect redness, swelling and inflammation for the first 1 to 5 days post-treatment. This is normal but will usually be of a very minor nature.
Following Days after Your Treatment
. It is normal for the area that has been treated to be red/pink, swollen and feel tight and dry. Occasional weeping is normal and will settle
. Tiny crusts will quickly form on the treated area. These may be visible for up to about a week.
. Do not pick crusts off as this will de-lay the healing process and could cause hyperpigmentation and scarring
. The area(s) treated may be cleansed daily with room temperature water and your fingers. Avoid using washcloths or any other washing devices. You are only removing excess oil and do not need to thoroughly cleanse the treated skin. Do NOT be tempted to rub, brush or exfoliate the area in any way to aid in the removal of the crusts. Pat dry with a clean tissue
. Do not stand with your face under a hot shower for the first 3-4 days. This could increase swelling. Try to avoid shower gels or hair products running on to your face as this could cause irritation and inflammation. Rinse thoroughly with tepid water if products do come into contact with the area(s) treated and gently pat dry
. Avoid swimming or chlorinated water as it can increase irritation.
. Keep scabs/crusts moist by applying provided aftercare three times a day – but only in small amounts, do not soak the area.
. Men should avoid shaving the treated area until it is fully healed (around 7 days).
. If you have had treatment around your eyes, you should avoid wearing contact lenses for 72 hours after your treatment.
. Once the scabs have fallen off (approximately 7 days), your skin may be a little pink. You may begin to apply your normal foundation/make-up/sunblock but avoid using skincare products containing glycolic/salicylic/retinoic/AHA/scrubs/Clarisonic or any other active exfoliating ingredients/devices for at least 21 days, as this will cause irritation. Absolutely no makeup until scabs have fallen off.
. Avoid sun exposure. Once the scabs have fallen off, you must wear a physical sunblock (zinc & titanium) and a hat while your skin is in the healing stages (pink in colour) and you should continue to do so for at least the next 12 weeks to avoid hyperpigmentation.
. Do not sunbath/sun tanning beds for 10–12-week post procedure.
. Do not have any other facial treatments in the same treatment area while your skin is healing (12 weeks).
. Do not wax treatment area for at least 21 days, if not longer. If you are receiving Plasma Pen treatment anywhere around the eyes, I would wait the full 12 weeks. It will be ok to tweeze or thread any unwanted hairs after scabs have fallen off the area.
