What happened before coming to Iran

I explained to him that gastric Botox does not have any side effects. You can do Botox injections again after six months without experiencing any issues. You will start noticing the results from the first week and almost 50 to 60 percent of the expected weight-loss will happen in the first 3 months. you will keep losing weight for almost six months and up to 14 kilos. after the procedure, the doctor himself gives you a series of instructions on what to eat and what foods to avoid. That is, just as we have a diet plan after the gastric sleeve, it is the same after gastric Botox.

the procedure is done under local anesthesia and lasts for almost thirty minutes. it’s a minor operation and not invasive at all, just anesthesia and then injections in several places in the abdomen. We picked him up from the hotel at three in the afternoon. Our first stop was Eram Garden where we went for a walk. Arriving in Iran and the reception

Because the patient was in a hurry and had planned to stay in Iran for only 3 days, we asked him not to eat or drink anything after the morning of his arrival in Iran. So that his body would be prepared to do Gastric Botox. So, that day, the interpreter, the driver and others went to the airport to pick him up and take him directly to the doctor’s office.

Before Botox injection

All arrangements were made in advance. an appointment was made. All the required medications and necessary material had been bought and made ready. And after his arrival, almost with no delay he was able to see the doctor. he was taken to the room where he would receive the Botox injections. There, the anesthesiologist talked to him and told him that he needs to take a very mild anesthetic and asked him some basic questions, is he taking anything or is he allergic to anything? Because such things can affect the substances used in anesthesia. Anesthesiologist was a pleasant and kind woman and made the patient feel really comfortable. She made sure that he was not stressed because it was the first time that the patient wanted to experience anesthesia at all. He had not had any operations before and he had not experienced any anesthesia before.

What happens during Gastric Botox

When the anesthesiologist was done, the doctor came in and talked to the patient. And he explained to him what was going to be done to him. And what is the benefit of Botox? He explained that after he went under, he will be given the injection through an endoscope and a needle. He will receive 25 injections each containing 0.5ml of Botox. There are no side-effects. The only thing the patient has to do is not to eat anything for an hour after the injection, and after that he could get back to his normal diet and start with a cool drink. However, to get the best results it is essential to follow a healthy diet. Gastric Botox, like other bariatric surgeries, will take you only so far, and it’s the patient who must follow the doctor’s instructions to the letter, keep a healthy diet and exercise regularly to see a significant and lasting change.

The doctor was fluent in English and so explained everything to him clearly. He assured him that Botox is not harmful at all and after six months it starts to shrink. And in these six months, the patient can lose ten to fifteen percent of his excess weight. And this was enough for our patient to reach a healthy weight.

The patient under general anesthesia during the operation which lasted about 20 minutes. After twenty minutes they called the interpreter to go and take the patient from the injection room where the endoscopy is done to the recovery room. There, the patient waited and lay down on the bed until he regained his consciousness. Although the anesthesia was very mild, it was like a deep sleep. Just to make sure the patient doesn’t feel uncomfortable during the procedure.

During the endoscopy, the doctor noticed that the patient’s had Helicobacter pylori infection and stomach ulcer. so, he prescribed a series of medicines that he would need to take for two weeks to get rid of this problem. Well, stomach Botox had the added benefit of treating the patients stomach ulcer and stomach bacteria. The patient later mentioned that he has gastric reflux which the doctor said taking medications will help with that as well.
